IN MEMORIAM: Fred Glasscoe

25 Feb 2021

A message from Brian Coulshed, President of Leverstock Green Cricket Club:

FRED GLASSCOE

It is my sad duty to inform you that Fred Glasscoe, long-standing member of Leverstock Green Cricket Club, died peacefully at home on the evening of February 21.

Fred became a member of LGCC in the mid-1970s and was a stalwart of the club during the past five decades.

For many years, he was the club’s Fixture Secretary, a demanding position which he carried out with characteristic, unassuming efficiency. Fred was our Ground Secretary for a number of years and was also happy to umpire and to help the club in whatever way necessary.

He was a constant supporter of LGCC, wherever the teams were playing, including on tour. He was also very proud that his sons and grandsons played for Leverstock Green and that all his family participated wholeheartedly in the life of the club.

In fact, I think that it is true to say that no other family had so many members playing for LGCC during the same era. Fred fully deserved his election as a Life Vice-President of Leverstock Green Cricket Club.

On behalf of all members and officials of the club, I send our sincere condolences to Fred’s wife, Pauline, sons Keith & Aidan and the rest of the family: Maxine, Laura, Lewis, Nathan, Connor, Conor, Kirsten and Teagan.

Brian Coulshed, President, LGCC
