Club Update - June 2020

14 Jun 2020

Dear All,

It’s been a few weeks since our last email to members. I do hope you are all keeping well.

There are some positive signs that the UK is preparing to return to some level of normality over the next few weeks and months. We continue to receive updates from the ECB and try to establish what this means for the remainder of the cricket season.

Here are a couple of points to be aware of:

- The ECB are confident that cricket clubs will be permitted to play some matches this summer. They have produced a ‘roadmap’ for the return of cricket.

- England is currently at step 3 on the roadmap, which allows small group training sessions of up to six people while respecting social distancing.

- As a committee, we have voted to support a potential option to play adults league matches in September 2020, with some caveats to protect our clubs best interests.

- Please note: Ruislip CC facilities and cricket nets remain CLOSED to all members until further notice. This is because we cannot operate with absolute compliance with the strict social distancing rules at this time.

Finally, I wanted to inform you that we have witnessed some anti-sociable behaviour close to our club house recently. Last week some external lights were damaged. We have spoken with local residents and reported the matter to the Police for further action.

I hope these updates are helpful. We will let you know when we have more information. Keep well everyone!

Kind regards,

Neil
