Wanstead and Snaresbrook Cricket Club News story

The Bar Is Opening

10 Apr 2021

Great news. We are planning to open our newly refurbished bar (outside only – how ironic) with a greater range of beers and other products from the 12th April. For the moment the opening times will be as follows:

Monday – 5 to 9pm

Thursday – 6 to 9pm

Friday – 5 to 9.30pm

Saturday – 5 to 9.30pm

Sunday – 12 to 6pm

We can only open for outdoor table service in line with government restrictions. We have invested in new outdoor seating and hope to have around 40 tables and benches available but if they are all taken, then please wait for one to become free, or leave the premises and return later.

Drinks will be purchased by a dedicated Wanstead CC app which should ensure a smooth ordering process. There will be QR codes on all the tables and benches. If you have trouble scanning QR codes on your ‘phone you can download an App such as  QR Scanner App. Due to the cost of this investment (wait till you see it – it’s better than the Weatherspoons’ one…) and the additional staffing requirements we will be charging a   small service charge of 50p per order to cover these costs. Please be patient as drinks will have to brought to you.

Please remember the following:

  • You must not come to the club if you are feeling unwell with, or have, COVID symptoms, or if you are in a household where someone is isolating.
  • On arrival, you must register using the NHS Track & Trace QR code by the entrance doors.
  • The Rule of 6 still applies at the club i.e. you can meet up outdoors with friends and family you do not live with, either:
    • in a group of up to 6 from any number of households (children of all ages count towards the limit of 6)
    • in a group of any size from up to two households (each household can include an existing support bubble, if eligible)
  • You must not mingle with people outside your group.
  • It’s important for children not taking part in cricket training to stay with their parents as we cannot afford to have unsupervised children running around our seating areas and the ground.

I am sorry about these restrictions but we will only be able to remain open if everyone complies with the above and we thank you for your understanding and cooperation in advance

We look forward to all of you experiencing our new bar, wider range of draught beers, spirits and soft drinks and most importantly a safe and enjoyable place to socialise.
