SCC AGM - Further Information following meeting

04 Dec 2019

Hi

Firstly thanks to all who attended the AGM last night, we had the best turn out for a few years we think. However thanks to TFL Rail and Greater Anglia I was rushed and unprepared for the meeting when it started. I therefore forgot a few thing I wanted to bring up with you.

  • Defibrillator - We are in negotiations with ECCC and various charities about purchasing an external defibrillator. This unit will, we plan, sit outside on the clubhouse wall and be available 24/7/365 to all including the local community and of course to SCC members, friends and opposition. Its obviously something we never want to have to use but feel its essential to have around a sports club and also making it available to the local community enhances our standing with them. We hope this will be in place during the winter, we are still investigating options and technical requirements.
  • SCC 60th Anniversary 2020. Next year sees us reaching our Diamond anniversary and to celebrate we intend to put on various events to celebrate throughout the year. The major event will be in October for our Anniversary Dinner, dates and venues to be confirmed in due course. We are open to ideas on other celebratory events during the year, including any events we can include fund raising for Farleigh, so please feel free to suggest!!

One other note following last nights AGM. This event is your chance to air views, grievances, suggestions etc and we always encourage people to contribute prior to the event so your points can be discussed openly. The committee work hard to deliver what we are being asked to do so if you don't tell us before we cant do it! We are also available at any time during the year for you to mention any issues you have, we will always listen and try and respond and improve the club for all from our youngest nippers, to our current senior players and not forgetting the old ex players and long time members. Please feel free to grab me or one of the committee at any time. Please don't keep it to yourself, we want to make this club event better than it currently is, your views count!

With that we, the Committee, want to wish you and your families and healthy, peaceful and festive Christmas and 2020.

Thanks

Paul
