EAGCC Carbon Balanced Yet Again!

17 Nov 2020

The Green lived up to its name again this year by balancing its carbon emissions for the 2019 season.  This marks our seventh year balanced year since the initial project saw EAGCC become the World's First carbon neutral cricket club in 2013.

We achieve this using a simple Measure Reduce Balance process with help from the World Land Trust.  The Reduce part is important, and we will be renovating the George Porter pavilion to maximise sustainability very soon.  In the meantime, start thinking about getting to and from matches as transport accounts for 87% of our emissions.

For more info see the Green Initiative page on our web site.  The question remains why other cricket clubs don't do likewise?  We aim to try find out.  Watch this space!
