Signing Announcement!

After extensive work over the winter by 1st X1 Captain Stuart Graham and former 2nd X1 Captain Ste Turnbull we have finally been able to secure the services of someone to strengthen our 1st X1 for the 2020 season!

The man in question hails from Wallan in Victoria - Australia but holds an all important UK Passport. He and his family have been looking to spend a summer in England and it seemed a perfect opportunity for both Kieran and his family and ourselves as a club!

Over his career playing club cricket in Australia, 37 year old Kieran boats a batting averaging of just over 40 with a highest score of 209 and a bowling average of just over 25 with a best of 5 for 37. He is a top order batsman and right arm off spin bowler who will add experience to our side as well as the ability to score runs as well as his off-spin being a very handy asset on our large field and adding variety to our bowling attack. He is also a personal trainer so some of the less fit members of our club could be in for a shock or could perhaps draw on his knowledge to get themselves in shape!

We are very much looking forward to welcoming Kieran to the club for the season as well as his wife - Shannon and their two young children. When you see them around please make the effort to give them a friendly welcome to the club as they are very much looking forward to meeting everyone and becoming part of the every day life of things at Consett cricket club!
