Crowd Funding

03 Sep 2020

As this extraordinary cricket season draws to a conclusion, 2020 marks the Club's 130th year anniversary and we have important news to share with you and enlist your support.

As has been the case this year for many industries, companies and families, The Club's revenues have been hit hard... but we remain financially stable, albeit with lower cash reserves that remain under pressure from fixed monthly overheads and groundman's costs.

The Club's primary sources of income; functions, lettings and bar takings have been hit hard. In addition, our annual fireworks display in November that also generates important income, will also not go ahead this year.  The only year we have not held the event since we started in 1994.

We therefore need to consider other ways of raising funds to meet the shortfall and allow us to set spending budgets for next year and ensure we continue to provide cricket for colts and adults alike.

We would like to share with you a Crowd Funding Scheme which we hope all members will support and promote.

So, how does Crowd Funding work?
Individuals or companies may make a donation to the club.  For every pound donated, Sport England will add a further 50% on top.  For example, a £1 donation will turn in to £1.50 with the Sport England top up.

The Club certainly understands these are difficult times for everyone, so if you feel that you are able to donate, every penny will be greatly appreciated.

How can donations be made?
Please donate directly into our Crowd Funding account
Bank:    NatWest Slough Trading Estate
Account Name:    Boyne Hill Cricket Club
Sort Code:    60-04-53
Account Number:    13666142
Reference:    'Your Name'

Is there a deadline when donations close?
To qualify for the Sport England top up, donations must be received in the Club's Crowd Funding account no later than 24 October 2020.  Beyond this date, Sport England will no longer top up with the extra 50%, though the club will still receive your kind donation.

Should you have any questions about Crowd Funding, please do get in touch with our Treasurer, Michael Powell at michael.powell07@btinternet.com

Before closing, from everyone on the Management Committee, we'd like to send out a big heart felt THANK YOU to the numerous volunteers for your ongoing support in such difficult circumstances.  Without your support many of the cricketing activities would not have been possible.

We trust everyone is staying fit and well.  There are just two weekends of cricket left this season, so if you can, why not pop down Saturday afternoon and watch some cricket at The Hill.
