Plan to start training for 2020

26 Jun 2020

Dear Member

As of 29th June, the club will provide an opportunity for members to use the practice net facilities. The rules which have been applied comply with Scottish Government, sportscotland and Cricket Scotland guidelines.

At this time we are only looking for those playing senior cricket to attend training. We will be following the guidance set out and the resumption of junior training will be announced when we feel we are ready. This may be in line with the next stage in the return out of lock down which has a provisional date of 15 July 2020 at present. Further information will be issued when junior training will commence.

All members using the facilities must comply with the following rules. See also attached information.

  • Net sessions must be booked in advance

  • Booking should be done at the following   https://doodle.com/poll/qrwrun7d8kugsai9

  • Sessions may be affected if the conditions are wet.

  • No equipment will be provided by the club, other than the stumps

  • Each person attending the net facility must each use their own balls and have these clearly marked. The club will have some balls for sale, such as old match balls and new balls. All balls which are sold will be disinfected prior to sale.

  • Nets can be used by up to three people from different households (maximum 8). Social distancing must be observed throughout the practice session

  • The nets will be supervised by club volunteers at change over times. Any observation of participants breaching the guidelines will result in suspension from future bookings

  • If any member of the household is experiencing symptoms in line with COVID19 the Government isolation guidelines will apply, and you are not to attend the nets session

  • The clubhouse will remain closed and there will be NO toilet facilities available.

Before arriving at the Club

  • Batters are required to kick or hit the ball back to the bowler. Batters must not pick the ball up

  • When changing between batting and bowling, players must change into their kit on their allocated spots which will be detailed on the floor

  • If a ball should come to your net area from another one, this should be kicked or hit back to the bowler from the other net. At no point should you pick up someone else’s ball – only applicable when multiple bays are in operation
